Lim Anuar was born in 1969 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Though born deaf, he is a talented artist full with passion and aspiration. Lim Anuar’s works captured the joy of childhood and mingling with nature, featuring scenes in Penang where he grew up. His unique interpretation and visualisation feature the element of water, land and sky in harmonious equilibrium with mankind.
A person with a deep thirst in knowledge, despite his disability, Lim Anuar graduated with a degree in Interior Architecture and a Master of Arts in Visual Arts. After working for more than 25 years as designer, art director and resident artist in university and some companies, he decided to become a full-time artist since 2011.
Lim Anuar had participated and represented Malaysia’s disabled community in local and overseas competitions where he successfully won various awards. In 2011, he represented Malaysia in the 8th International Abilympics (Olympic of Abilities) held in Korea and won the gold medal in Silk Painting. In 2013, his paintings were chosen to be exhibited in the “Arts Kuala Lumpur” exhibition organised by the National Art Gallery and MATRADE in Miami, United States in conjunction with the Art Basel Miami and in Melbourne, Australia the next year.
