Artist Biography

Born in Muar, Johor in 1935, Tan Puay Tee is a talented self-taught artist skilled in a wide range of medium including oil painting, Chinese painting, and even woodblock prints. Like his father and elder brother, Tan has this love to draw since young. After graduation, financial constraints led him to a tough road as a self-taught artist, in which he has not only persisted but also established himself as a successful artist.
