About the Exhibiton
An art exhibition of Bodhisattva is not merely about painting technique nor a creative performance. It also encompasses the artist’s state of mind, understanding and exploration surrounding the topic of life. In the Buddhist philosophy, Bodhisattva is an incarnation of spiritual practice and compassion, a combination of wisdom and life. They experience and journey through numerous life cycles, and would eventually achieve a certain state of mind as they are getting closer to discovering the true meaning of life. Along the way, Bodhisattvas continuously guide and save others from torments and sufferings. By practicing both wisdom and compassion, it would bring them faster to nirvana. Guan Yin would be the Bodhisattva of Compassion who we’re most familiar with in our world. Guan Yin listens and concerns any voice of pain and distress, and with his power of goodness, response to anyone calling for his protection and rescue. Guan Yin does not take on any form, since he can transform into anything. He carries out spiritual practice in life in order to gain wisdom, and with wisdom, to enable himself and others to break free from all doubts and sufferings in life. He comes and goes, gives and takes, until he reaches the completion stage of enlightenment.
