Norlisham Selamat’s art draws inspiration from urban landscapes, where skylines, graffiti layers, and decaying buildings influence his color palette and themes. His works capture the transient beauty of these spaces, reflecting cycles of transformation and renewal.

A graduate of the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) in 1989, Norlisham Selamat earned an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, in 1990. He has participated in over 20 group exhibitions and serves as a senior lecturer in MIA’s Visual Communication Department. His debut solo show, GRAfine Art Design, was held at MIA Gallery in 2011.

Notable exhibitions include Benjamin Art Gallery, Singapore (1992); Petronas Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (1995); SpACE@Collins, Australia (2015); Art Asia 2015, Kuala Lumpur (2015); RHB Banking Group (2017); Maybank Art Gallery (2018); ZHAN Art | Space (2020); Galeri Prima (2020 & 2021); Kyushu Geibun-kan Art and Cultural Center, Japan (2021); and SGM Cultural Centre (2017 & 2022). In 2022, he curated Abdullah Jones’s solo exhibition ”Mujarad Naga Tasek Chini“ at G13 Gallery, Kuala Lumpur.
