Yong Khek Cheong completed his studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore in 1967, under the guidance of influential Nanyang art pioneers like Georgette Chen. He co-founded the Singapore Nanyang Fine Art Alumni Association Malaysia and served as an art consultant for the Malaysia Artists Association. He worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, and printer from 1968 to 1996. In 1998, he became a consignment artist for Image-Direct Limited Editions Image of Art (Holland).

His works were exhibited at open shows held at the National Art Gallery Malaysia, Petronas Art Gallery, and Maybank Art Gallery. He also participated in various international fairs and expos, including Art Expo Malaysia (2008 & 2009); Artists Art Fair Malaysia (2014 & 2015); "The 13th Guangzhou International Art Fair", China (2008); and "The 2nd Hangzhou Art Fair", China (2009); as well as at exhibitions held in Singapore and Korea.

杨克昌1967年毕业于新加坡南洋美专,期间得到南洋先驱如张荔英等的教诲,并共同创办了新加坡南洋美专马来西亚校友会。由于受到美专传统的西洋画绘画手法与知识的熏陶,杨老师在此期间, 坚定的掌握了油画艺术的表现能力,从此以后,就在西洋画艺术领域中,不断的追求与探寻自己生命的艺术方向。曾担任马来西亚画家协会艺术顾问,并在1968年至1996年间以插画师、平面设计师和印刷师的身份活跃于艺术与设计领域。作品曾入选马来西亚国家画廊公开展、国油公开展和马来亚银行公开展,并参与多个重要艺术博览会,包括马来西亚国际艺术博览会(2008、2009);马来西亚艺术家博览会(2014、2015);第十三届广州国际艺术博览会,中国(2008),以及第二届杭州艺术博览会,中国(2009)。此外,他的作品还亮相于新加坡及韩国的国际联展。
