Lai Tiew Seong - an artist with a deep, inseparable passion towards Chinese ink art. During his early years, to overcome environmental restraints, he chose to be taught by correspondence in his journey to self-learn classical Chinese ink.

Fast forward to today, he has now built a strong foundation in ink painting, which can be seen clearly through his simple yet meaningful strokes, colours, and lines. His subjects are inspired from the fishing scenes in the East Coast where he has lived for most of his life.

By purposely blocking the view with plain spaces, Lai successfully created dimension and a sense of space transcendence, thus imbuing a transparent and serene atmosphere that is highly appreciated in Chinese art.

从早年为了突破环境的局限而通过函授来自修水墨绘画技法开始，经历超越半生的辗转磨练，直至于今，已经练就了一身水墨绘画深厚的功力。

无论是笔法或用色，晕染或线条，皆显示他扎实的绘画功底，并因此散发一股拙然朴实的韵隐之味。

他的水墨作品取材简单，就把常年生活的东海岸渔景入画。但却采用了绘画技巧艰难的“前障法”，来表达他内心极欲追求的高度透视与空间超越法，以达致水墨意境的空灵境界。

于是，他成功了！
