Chow Min Kong was trained in Western art under Yong Pang Yee and French-educated artist Chia Yu Chian. He learnt Chinese art through graduates of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Qin Yu Xian and Wong Teng Hee, as well as renowned Taiwanese calligraphers Gao Huashan and Xue Pingnan. He actively exhibited across Malaysia, Singapore and China, including at Beijing Normal University (2017); Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circle (2018); and Singapore Cultural Centre (2018). In 2019, a memorial exhibition was held by the Serdang Art Gallery and Serdang Artists Association.
周民光，沙登人，曾为马来西亚国际现代书画联盟、书艺协会和爱石协会会员，亦是资深字画、书法书籍收藏家。自幼对美术，尤其是传统书法有着浓厚的兴趣。1965年，开始跟随启蒙老师杨邦仪学习西洋画，后来随著名留法画家 - 谢玉谦学习西洋油画多年。同时，也向秦玉仙老师学习中国水墨画；并在1975年、1985年和1997年跟随黄崇禧老师学习书法。这两位老师皆毕业自新加坡南洋美专。之后远赴台湾向高华山老师和薛平南老师拜师多年，深受二老篆法的影响。
曾参加多次全国书法比赛，如陈金火杯书法比赛，并获得奖项。多次参与国际书法大展，如：“新马豫书法巡回联展“， 新加坡、马来西亚及中国（2007）；“南溟燕归”（2017及2018），展览先后在北京师范大学坚净美术馆及中国文艺家之家展览馆举行；以及“第十三届国际书法交流新加坡大展”，新加坡（2018）。2019年，作品展出于沙登美术馆“向前辈致敬纪念特展”。
