WAITING 等候 (2025) | YE NAING TUN
Ye Naing Tun is a Myanmar artist whose practice reflects two decades of steady, disciplined development across both group and independent exhibitions. His early trajectory includes the Royal Artisans series (2004–2006), followed by Sound of the Wave at MAOC Art Gallery (2013–2015) and Thunder at Lokanat Art Gallery (2016). Subsequent milestones—AD Art Exhibition, OK Art Gallery (2019); Reborn, The Artist Art Gallery (2024); and Sometimes It Rains, Izana Art Gallery (2025)—mark a continued widening of his presence within Myanmar’s contemporary art field. In 2025, he also exhibited abroad at the ASEAN–China Art Exchange Exhibition, Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Malaysia.
Trained at the State School of Fine Art in Yangon in 2018, Ye Naing Tun works with a refined realist approach grounded in strong technical command. The sea remains a recurring and central motif in his practice, not as a literal view but as a site of emotional projection and shifting psychological states. Through calibrated strokes and subtle modulations of tone, he captures the tension between calm and turbulence, surface and depth, offering a disciplined yet resonant reading of maritime space.
Across his evolving body of work, Ye Naing Tun’s commitment to craftsmanship, observation, and emotional clarity positions him as a distinctive voice within Myanmar’s contemporary realist movement, contributing a precise and contemplative vision shaped by both tradition and lived experience.
